CEYLON ORANGE PEKOE

At the end of the 19th century, the British decided to continue in Ceylon the successful initiatives they had taken in India. At the very moment when coffee and cocoa were being decimated by diseases, tea plants from Assam and China were planted at the right time by James Taylor in Kandy in 1867. They would change the destiny of the island, because the tea plants thrived in the Ceylon climate. While the Sinhalese were reluctant to work in the tea plantations, Tamil women, originally from southern India, were assigned to picking tea. This remained a mainly female job, hard and poorly paid. Hence the importance of choosing a Ceylon tea that respects the work of the pickers, in order to enjoy with a clear conscience its beautiful woody, powerful notes, its antioxidants and its digestive tannins.

The ingredients: Ceylon tea (Sri Lanka), Venture OP, from organic farming.

Preparation: 2 tablespoons for 1 liter of pure water brought to 95°. Infusion 4'.

Use : Ideal in the morning. Also excellent in Latte.
