Description & history of the KUKULKAN
Description & history of the KUKULKAN
Among the ancient Maya, Kukulkan was the supreme god, that of resurrection and reincarnation. It is for the symbols of strength and great resistance that it embodies that we chose it to name this recipe based on moringa leaves, otherwise called“the tree of Life». A stimulating, protective and balancing infusion, enhanced with lemongrass and citrus fruits.
Notes: off the beaten track, both herbaceous and fruity.
Ingredients, Preparation & Use
Ingredients, Preparation & Use
Ingredients :
Moringa leaf (70%), lemongrass leaf (10%), lemon peel (10%), orange peel (10%), orange and lemon essential oil.
Artisan culture from Guatemala exclusively - 100% natural - No added flavors or sugar - THEINE FREE.
Use : in the morning and in the evening, in immoderate quantities.
Dosage: 2 large tablespoons for 1 liter of pure or filtered water
Preparation:
Traditional method: Bring the water to 90°. Pour into a teapot fitted with a filter. Leave to infuse for 7 to 10 minutes. Remove the filter. Transfer the liqueur into a thermos to take with you to drink throughout the day.
Alternative method: KUKULKAN is very rich in vitamins C and A. These do not like heat very much, if you want to benefit from it, then the infusion at room temperature (or barely lukewarm - around 40°) is best. adapted. But then you have to push the infusion time to 20'. Then put in the refrigerator, or add a nice handful of ice cubes for 1 liter of preparation. Also pour into a thermos, to take it with you and drink it throughout the day. Avoid evenings (see the vitamin C which has been well preserved!).
Delicious and effective also in an iced version!

Jorge's explanations:
“Moringa is not native to Central America, it originally came from Africa and Eastern India, then spread all around the tropics. However, I couldn't miss it, as it is so successful in our Mayan world, which remains vibrant and flexible, integrating new potentially beneficial beverages.
According to what you and I can read on "Wikipedia", Moringa leaves contain twice as much protein as yogurt, 3 times more potassium than banana, 4 times more calcium than milk, 7 times more vitamin C than oranges and 4 times more vitamin A than carrots, and contain the 8 essential amino acids. This is one of the reasons why some include Moringa Olifeira among the superfoods.
The recipe is also very beautiful, airy, with its beautiful fresh green leaves. Its notes are delicate, navigating between cut grass, spinach and banana. »
In my last order I particularly appreciate the Kukulkan, the discovery of Dom Grechka is very nice and original. Perhaps a slight downside for the Mayanna, very good but I expected more fruitiness in the taste and the cocoa is more present than I imagined. I like it but it's close to Dom Grechka in terms of flavor palette, and I would have liked different things.
It's always difficult to order new products without smelling or tasting... but the descriptions are clear and accurate on the site (for Kukulkan, Dom Grechka and Popol Wuuj).
Kukulkan is very pleasant to drink with its pretty color, I love it!
