Description & history of the PU EHR SHU
Description & history of the PU EHR SHU
Large-leaf tea (Da Ye) has been harvested in Yunnan for about 1000 years. The Bulang people let it ferment in the form of compressed cakes, very practical to slip into saddlebags, attached to the sides of donkeys that wandered on the tea road. Then they learned to accelerate the fermentation process: after drying, the tea leaves are sprinkled with water and covered with a tarpaulin for several weeks. The Pu Ehr “SHU” (cooked) was born. According to traditional Chinese medicine, the Pu Ehr is a perfect prebiotic to stimulate digestion and eliminate toxins, and even to lose weight. It is also known to be beneficial in cases of cholesterol.
