Description & history of the SENCHA OHAYOU
Description & history of the SENCHA OHAYOU
Sencha tea represents approximately 80% of Japan's national production. Its origins date back to the 18th century, thanks to Nagatani Sōen, a tea grower from Uji, who developed a specific method of processing tea leaves, flattening them into needles after steaming. This Sencha “Ohayou” (which means Good morning, early morning, in Japan) is the perfect accompaniment to start the day. Rich in caffeine and antioxidants (catechins), it helps fight both cellular aging and everyday fatigue. It is also rich in L-theanine, an amino acid that acts on the brain by reducing mental stress and producing a relaxing effect. This Sencha combines iodized and floral notes, creating a pleasant sensation of freshness.
